Founder & Lead Physician
Amr Kader, MD PhD FACOG
Board-Certified OB-GYN · Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgeon
Dr. Kader earned his medical degree from Alexandria University and went on to complete a research fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Minimally Invasive Surgery at the Cleveland Clinic — one of the leading programs in the country. He finished his OB-GYN residency at West Virginia University before bringing his expertise to Rhode Island.
Today he serves as Assistant Clinical Professor at Brown University's Alpert Medical School and as Division Chief of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Kent Hospital. He is a Fellow of the American College of OB-GYN (ACOG) and an active member of AAGL and ASRM.
Dr. Kader has a particular passion for robotic-assisted gynecologic surgery — with more than 700 da Vinci procedures and counting — offering patients smaller incisions, less pain, and faster recoveries. But for him, the heart of medicine will always be the personal connection: he built Venus OB-GYN around the belief that every woman deserves customized care.
When he's not in the office or OR, you'll find him spending time with his wife and their three boys — or deep into a home improvement project, tinkering with tools and gadgets around the house.

Jeffrey Hunter, MD
Board-Certified OB-GYN
Dr. Hunter grew up in the Ozarks and made his way east for college, graduating from Brown University before earning his MD from the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He brings warmth, curiosity, and a grounded Midwestern sensibility to every patient encounter.
Outside the office, Dr. Hunter is a lover of travel, reading, and theatre. He lives on a small farm in Foster, Rhode Island — complete with fruit trees and hens — which, he'll tell you, keeps life wonderfully grounded.

Jillian Clifford, MSN FNP
Certified Family Nurse Practitioner
Jillian earned both her BSN and MSN from Salve Regina University, building on years of experience in pediatric and adult primary care nursing before bringing her skills to women's health. She is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) and the American Heart Association (AHA).
Her patients consistently describe her as patient, thorough, and genuinely compassionate — someone who listens fully, explains clearly, and makes every visit feel less daunting. Her approach is rooted in family-centered, healing care, and it shows in the room.

Fanta Freeman, CNM
Certified Nurse Midwife · ACNM
Fanta earned her BSN from UMass Dartmouth and her MSN from Frontier Nursing University, one of the country's most respected midwifery programs. She is certified by the American College of Nurse-Midwives (ACNM).
She believes deeply that every woman deserves to feel empowered, respected, and fully supported through pregnancy and birth — and she brings that same commitment to gynecologic care across the full lifespan, from menstrual irregularities through menopause.
When she's not caring for patients, Fanta enjoys time with her family, staying active, traveling, and exploring cuisines from around the world.

Jenna Clifford, MSN CNM

Jenna's path to midwifery ran through labor & delivery floors in Boston and Charlotte after earning her BSN from Salve Regina University. She later completed her MSN at Frontier Nursing University and is certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB).
She is passionate about meeting patients exactly where they are — supporting women and LGBTQI patients across contraception, pregnancy, postpartum, sexual health, and menopause. Her style blends evidence-based medicine with a holistic, whole-person perspective.
Jenna joined Venus OB-GYN alongside her twin sister Jillian. Off duty, she travels whenever possible, tries every new restaurant she can find, and spoils her dog Finley relentlessly.

Sophia Brownstein, PA-C
Board-Certified Physician Assistant
Sophia graduated from UMass Amherst before earning her Master of Physician Assistant Studies from MCPHS University. It was during PA school — rotating through outpatient women's clinics, OB/GYN surgery, and labor & delivery — that women's health became her clear calling.
She brings that passion into every exam room, striving to create a welcoming space where patients feel genuinely supported and confident advocating for their own health. She believes an informed patient is an empowered one.
Medical Assistant
Janette Pomales, MA
Medical Assistant · With Dr. Kader since 2013
Janette has been by Dr. Kader's side since the beginning — she was one of the first people who helped build what Venus OB-GYN is today. She holds a Medical Assistant diploma from Lincoln Technical Institute and is the kind of person who makes you feel at home the moment you walk through the door.
Her warmth is something patients mention over and over. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she's often the familiar face that eases nerves before an appointment — and the warm goodbye on the way out.
